Our history

NEXANS HELLAS S.A. was set up in 1973. The company started its manufacturing activity as “MANULI HELLAS CABLES S.A.” in 1974. In 1988, the company joined ALCATEL Group. In early 1990, the company’s share was listed on Athens Stock Exchange. In May 1990, “Alcatel Cables Hellas” acquired the majority shareholding in “VOLOS CABLES S.A.”. This holding gradually reached 100% and was completed by the merger of the two companies by the end of 1996. In May 2000, ALCATEL Group decided to spin off the greatest part of the Group's activities in cables and accessories and to establish an independent Group. The spin-off was completed in November 2000 and the shares of the parent company, i.e. NEXANS, were listed on Paris stock exchange. As per decision of the shareholders General Meeting on 2 November 2000, the name of the company was changed into NEXANS HELLAS SA.
